Eulmyo (乙卯) day pillar
A spring meadow: soft but tenacious life
What the Eulmyo day pillar is like
Eulmyo sets grass and vine (乙) over a spring meadow (卯). Wood above and below make a same-element pillar, with Friend (비견) in the day branch and Prime (건록) as its stage. Like spring grass that stands up again after being trodden on, it is soft yet tenacious.
Rich in feeling and easy with people, it is often drawn to nature, plants and the arts. Mild-looking, it does not give up its intentions easily. It likes to grow alongside people like itself.
Grass packed tight competes for room, and rivalry with close people can arise. Being clear about what is yours and what is theirs makes relationships easier.
The Eulmyo ilju (day pillar), character by character
Number 52 of the sixty-pillar cycle. The table shows what Halmeoni's calendar engine computes for this pillar.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Top character (day master) | 乙 — grass and vines (yin wood) |
| Bottom character (day branch) | 卯 — Rabbit · wood · spring (about March) |
| Yin-yang | yin (both characters) |
| Elements | wood above, wood below |
| How the two relate | The same element above and below, so that element's nature shows plainly. |
| Hidden stems (ten gods) | 甲 Rob Wealth (겁재), 乙 Friend (비견) |
| Ten god of the day branch | Friend (비견) — people on your level: friends, siblings, peers; your pride |
| Twelve stages | Prime (건록) — standing on your own: steady strength |
| Void branches (공망) | 子, 丑 — an empty spot: what is hard to hold on to |
Hidden stems are the forces tucked inside the bottom character; the last one listed is the strongest. Ten gods describe each character as seen from the top character, the day master, so the same bottom character gets a different name under a different day master. The void branches are the two that have no partner in this pillar's ten-day week; they only matter when they appear elsewhere in a chart.
The twelve stages here count backwards for yin stems (the 음포태 method). Schools that give yin stems the yang table (양포태) get a different stage for this pillar.
A day pillar is only two of the eight characters in a chart. People who share it can read very differently once the year, month and hour are added, so take this as entertainment, not as a verdict on who you are.
