Musul (戊戌) day pillar
A dry autumn mountain: unshakable conviction
What the Musul day pillar is like
Musul sets a great mountain (戊) over the earth of late autumn (戌). Earth above and below make a same-element pillar, with Friend (비견) in the day branch and Tomb (묘) as its stage. Weighty like an autumn mountain, it is read as slow to change what it believes.
Hidden in 戌 are 辛 as Hurting Officer (상관) and 丁 as Direct Resource (정인), so a gruff exterior covers a wish to express and to learn. Deep, old subjects such as philosophy, religion and history tend to attract it. It is fiercely loyal to its own people.
Dry earth packs hard; too much stubbornness can isolate it. Practising listening to someone different all the way through widens this pillar.
The Musul ilju (day pillar), character by character
Number 35 of the sixty-pillar cycle. The table shows what Halmeoni's calendar engine computes for this pillar.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Top character (day master) | 戊 — a big mountain (yang earth) |
| Bottom character (day branch) | 戌 — Dog · earth · late autumn (about October) |
| Yin-yang | yang (both characters) |
| Elements | earth above, earth below |
| How the two relate | The same element above and below, so that element's nature shows plainly. |
| Hidden stems (ten gods) | 辛 Hurting Officer (상관), 丁 Direct Resource (정인), 戊 Friend (비견) |
| Ten god of the day branch | Friend (비견) — people on your level: friends, siblings, peers; your pride |
| Twelve stages | Tomb (묘) — stored away: saving, holding on |
| Void branches (공망) | 辰, 巳 — an empty spot: what is hard to hold on to |
Hidden stems are the forces tucked inside the bottom character; the last one listed is the strongest. Ten gods describe each character as seen from the top character, the day master, so the same bottom character gets a different name under a different day master. The void branches are the two that have no partner in this pillar's ten-day week; they only matter when they appear elsewhere in a chart.
A day pillar is only two of the eight characters in a chart. People who share it can read very differently once the year, month and hour are added, so take this as entertainment, not as a verdict on who you are.
