Jeongmyo (丁卯) day pillar
A lamp beside a spring wood: fine-grained sensitivity
What the Jeongmyo day pillar is like
Jeongmyo is a lamp (丁) beside spring grass and trees (卯). Wood is fuel for fire, so Indirect Resource (편인) sits below, and the pillar is read as perceptive and intuitive. It often notices a shift in mood or a person's feelings before anyone says a word.
Writing, drawing, music and other ways of giving feelings a shape tend to appeal. Among people it is quiet but warm, and once it trusts someone it stays loyal for a long time. Its twelve-stage position is Sickness (병), which, despite the name, describes a thoughtful and careful nature.
Taking feelings in deeply also means tiring quickly. Booking time alone in advance is how this lamp keeps burning.
The Jeongmyo ilju (day pillar), character by character
Number 4 of the sixty-pillar cycle. The table shows what Halmeoni's calendar engine computes for this pillar.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Top character (day master) | 丁 — a candle or lamp (yin fire) |
| Bottom character (day branch) | 卯 — Rabbit · wood · spring (about March) |
| Yin-yang | yin (both characters) |
| Elements | fire above, wood below |
| How the two relate | The bottom character feeds the top one: support from the ground up. |
| Hidden stems (ten gods) | 甲 Direct Resource (정인), 乙 Indirect Resource (편인) |
| Ten god of the day branch | Indirect Resource (편인) — unusual learning, intuition |
| Twelve stages | Sickness (병) — weakening: thoughtful, careful |
| Void branches (공망) | 戌, 亥 — an empty spot: what is hard to hold on to |
Hidden stems are the forces tucked inside the bottom character; the last one listed is the strongest. Ten gods describe each character as seen from the top character, the day master, so the same bottom character gets a different name under a different day master. The void branches are the two that have no partner in this pillar's ten-day week; they only matter when they appear elsewhere in a chart.
The twelve stages here count backwards for yin stems (the 음포태 method). Schools that give yin stems the yang table (양포태) get a different stage for this pillar.
A day pillar is only two of the eight characters in a chart. People who share it can read very differently once the year, month and hour are added, so take this as entertainment, not as a verdict on who you are.
